SCOTT DICKSON

With a passion for single malt and golf, combining both interests to deliver tailored whisky tastings has proven to be a true joy for both myself and my guests. For almost a decade now I have managed the golf events program for Loch Lomond Whiskies and have met many visitors to major events, including The Open, who have enjoyed a whisky tasting as part of their visit. Tailoring the tasting to the audience is a very important part of what I do to make the tasting as enjoyable as possible- and whilst working as a caddie in the East Neuk I have discovered that there is a real appetite from golfers to experience and learn about Scotch whisky on their trip. And so WhiskyCaddie was born!

“I have 20 years’ experience in the spirits
industry and over those years have represented
and managed many of the top single malt brands
in the UK.”

PROPOSAL

Whisky and golf are Scotland’s two biggest exports... let’s bring them together with Whisky Caddie. Time is tight on a golfing tour and visiting a distillery may not feasible. So why not offer a bespoke, tailored whisky tasting to your golfing parties as part of their tour, whilst staying at your hotel or golf club. Whisky Caddie is based in and around the East Neuk of Fife- however if time permits, tastings could be arranged further afield.

WHAT WHISKY CADDIE OFFERS

Whisky Caddie can deliver a selection of engaging whisky tastings that meet the expectations of the group within a timeframe that can often be very tight. The ability to bring the tasting to you and your guests where they are based in and around St Andrews and the East Neuk of Fife, at a mutually agreed venue such as a golf course, local bar or the hotel where they are staying.

Flexibility – it could be a large or small group and therefore I can offer flexibility on the type of tasting, location and time frame we are working with. All items for the tasting will be provided by Whisky Caddie – glassware, tasting mat, interactive pieces such as cask pieces, barley and of course, the whisky!

WHISKY CADDIE WILL OFFER THREE OPTIONS FOR TASTINGS

  • Introductory Tasting

A tasting with 3 single malts to explain how single malt Scotch whisky is made and cover off the core flavours one can expect to discover with a single malt.

    DURATION
    45 mins

    TOUR PARTY
    Suitable for 8 - 16 people

  • Scotland’s Whisky Regions

This tasting will cover off the 5 Whisky Regions of Scotland with a single malt from each region. This opens up the conversation on whisky history as we taste – allowing more time to cover off cask and terroir influence, as well as the influence of age.

    DURATION
    75 mins minimum

    TOUR PARTY
    Suitable for 8 - 16 people

  • Different Scotch Whisky Categories

This tasting will cover the 5 types of Scotch whisky, from single grain to single cask- and by introducing the guest to these different flavours it can open up the conversation on what they might prefer in terms of age, distilling style and mixability.

    DURATION
    75 mins minimum

    TOUR PARTY
    Suitable for 8 - 16 people

let’s work together

Whatever you would like me to cover, whatever malts you wish to taste to meet you and your guests’ expectations is always there to be discussed. And I am completely flexible in terms of timing and venue too - this is YOUR tasting, and I will do my utmost to fit in with YOUR schedule.

“A key part of what I do is talk about flavour and how it’s generated, rather than present a “this is how we make whisky” which will be covered off as we sample the malts and grains we choose to work with.”
